English Hill Runners was established in 2015 to provide an alternative option for registering and insuring fell and hill races in England. The people at the core of EHR were looking to replicate the independent option for event registration, insurance and race management such as in place in both Wales and Scotland.

In January 2017 it was decided to change and offer a website page to Race Organisers as a way of publishing the key information about their event giving ROs without a web presence an option to better advise their potential competitors.
ROs would then seek event insurance from one of the national bodies or through independent means.

Any race organisers wishing to take advantage of this provision should check out the race organisers page. This will provide ROs with an outline of the type of information EHR needs to set up the event page.

There will be no charge for this. EHR is about striving for best practise and publication of key event information which may not be otherwise accessible to competitors. This is to be encouraged throughout the sport.

The EHR Team includes experienced Fell Runners, Race Organisers and safety professionals. Race info is circulated and checked, clarification with the RO sought where necessary and then the event will be published. The RO can then use the web page to promote the event, updating information if necessary as race day approaches. Post race results and race reports can also be added.

Race Organisers may support the EHR website with a small donation if they see fit. That donation will go towards maintaining the website and any surplus from EHR will be passed on to Mountain Rescue.
